Ian Berry, Dayton Director of the Tang Teaching Museum, was interviewed about the museum by Lara Ayad, assistant professor of art history, for the WMHT program “AHA! A House for Arts,” which aired on Feb. 17. The segment can be viewed online.
Kris Covey, visiting assistant professor of environmental studies, was appointed as a member of
the New York State Wood Products Development Council by Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The council supports sustainable forestry, the manufacture of wood products, efforts to improve public understanding of New
York’s forests and forest products, and ventures that promote markets for forest products.
Sarah DiPasquale, assistant professor and associate chair of the Department of Dance, was appointed
to the editorial board of the Journal of Dance Medicine and Science. She will assume her new role in March.
Mary Kate Donovan, assistant professor of Spanish, published “Migrant memory and solidarity in Icíar Bollaín’s ‘En tierra extraña’” in the Journal of Spanish Cultural Studies (December 2020).
Catherine Golden, professor of English, offered a webinar for the British Empire Study Group entitled
"The Penny Post: Before Stamps Were Forever" to 300 attendees from across the United States, Canada France, Spain, Scotland,
England and Brazil. A recording of the webinar is available online.
Beck Krefting, associate professor and chair of the Department of American studies, published a creative
nonfiction piece entitled "Her Gifts" in the forthcoming anthology “Fast Funny Women,” a collection of humorists' musings. The collection is set to be published in March.
Jennifer Mueller, associate professor of sociology and director of the Intergroup Relations Program,
appeared as an invited guest on Memphis’ WYXR 97.1 “Let’s Grab Coffee.” Mueller discussed research from her in-progress book, “Inheriting the Gap: Wealth, Capital, and Intergenerational Race-Making,” which is under contract with NYU Press.
Jason Ohlberg, assistant professor of dance, published “Rethinking Technique: Considering Visual, Oral, And Movement Literacy to Promote Technical
Skill and Artistic Growth” in the Journal of Dance Education (February 2021).
Kazimer Skubi, visiting assistant professor of chemistry, published “Synthesis and Reactivity of Iron Complexes with a Biomimetic SCS Pincer Ligand” in Inorganic Chemistry (January 2021).
Natalie Taylor, associate professor and chair of the Department of Political Science, published “The Art of Reform” in the U.S. Intellectual History Blog of the Society for U.S. Intellectual History
