Achievement on the 2017-2018 academic year (including last summer)?

Completed a yearlong psychological research project and presented my findings at the Cognitive Development Society in Portland, Oregon.

How did you choose your major?

I came to Skidmore already knowing that I wanted to be a psychology major. I had an assignment in my High School English class, where we had to analyze in-depth the behaviors and thought process of a protagonist in a novel. I really enjoyed the assignment and said that if I could be paid for this, I would do it for the rest of my life. Then, one day when I was searching for a future career I saw that Psychologist study behavior and the mind which is exactly what I thought I should be paid to do.

What do you plan to do after Skidmore?

After Skidmore I plan on working for a year or two as a research coordinator or lab manger in the psychology field.

Recommendations for incoming OP students?

My advice to incoming OP students is to know why you're coming to college. When you have multiple papers and exams to study for and everything is due at the same time, you will question why you are here and if it’s even worth it. When you have a definite reason for being here these hard times become much easier.
