Welcome Letter from Amon Emeka
Welcome to Skidmore and the beginning of what we are sure will be a rewarding four years for you and your classmates. Before classes begin, we want to be sure that you are aware of all the resources, rights, and responsibilities that make the Skidmore College experience all that it can be. We do this by way of New Student Orientation (NSO) which will be delivered online this year. It will consist of three modules, which will introduce you to a range of topics related to health and wellness, academics, and the social and co-curricular aspects of college life.
All of the Orientation modules have been planned to help you make a successful transition to Skidmore College. Your completion of each module is required, and we are confident that you will explore each with the enthusiasm and commitment that is already characteristic of the Class of 2024.
Many members of the Skidmore community — faculty, staff, and students —have come together to give you the best possible introduction to Skidmore College. Ours is a vibrant community that is built upon shared commitments to liberal education, generally, and to your intellectual and personal growth, specifically. We hope that as you review these modules, you will begin to grasp the significance of Skidmore’s commitment to community. This year, more than most, the success of the College will depend on everyone’s embrace of community welfare as a guiding principle.
We welcome you and look forward to sharing in what is bound to be a memorable school year!
Sincerely,
Amon Emeka

Please note: Given the situation this fall, we will be welcoming you to the Class of 2024 and the larger Skidmore community at the same time. The three orientation modules contain information specific to incoming students, but there will be emails, community messages, and tasks that will require action by all members or our community.
