The Office of Special Programs enriches the College’s core mission year-round by vigorously seeking, creating and implementing innovative educational and cultural experiences to engage and stimulate diverse populations.
What We Do
Special Programs presents a distinctive array of academic programs, art institutes,
lecture series, artist/scholar residences and community programs that contribute to
Skidmore’s unique position among liberal arts colleges as a place for academic experimentation
and cutting-edge artistic creation and development. Everything we present shares a
spirit of innovation, broad access, serious educational endeavor and fun.
As host to many outside conferences and events, Special Programs welcomes those whose missions are consistent with ours and who will thrive in our community.
The following photo gallery shows Pre-College students at work in July 2013 on the Spring Run Trail, where they spent a half day pulling trash from the stream in addition to raking, collecting trash and weeding along the trail. Spring Run, under the auspices of Saratoga PLAN, is a popular location for walks and bicycle rides. All photos by Joe Levy. [Read more.]
