Research Interests

Gunes earned a Ph.D. from Columbia University focused on very-high-energy gamma-ray astrophysics with VERITAS. She studied gamma-ray properties of blazars, unidentified objects from the Fermi-LAT gamma-ray space telescope, and shower reconstruction methods for ground-based gamma-ray data analysis. She is also interested in Physics education.
