Reunion fireworks

Registration is still open for Reunion Weekend, May 30 to June 2. Skidmore is welcoming back alumni in classes ending in 4s and 9s.

More than 600 members of the Class of 2019 will receive bachelor's degrees at Skidmore's 108th Commencement Exercises on May 18. The ceremony, which is open to the public, will begin at 10:40 a.m. at SPAC.

Philadelphia Orchestra at SPAC

Connect with fellow alumni through Brazen Online Networking. In Saratoga Springs and the Capital Region, look forward to a Storytellers Institute performance June 6 on the Skidmore campus, the Capital PRIDE Parade on June 9 in Albany, and a Philadelphia Orchestra performance and reception Aug. 7 at SPAC. 

Streb Extreme Action dance company

The Senior Thesis Show and The Second Buddha: Master of Time exhibits close soon. Starting June 1, the Streb Extreme Action dance company turns a gallery into an exhibition, rehearsal and performance space. The dance company will perform at 7 p.m. June 14 as part of the Stewart’s Signature Series.

Filmmaker Sam Green

MDOCS kicks off Forum 2019 at 8 p.m. June 6 with a presentation of “The Love Song of R. Buckminster Fuller,” a live documentary from Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Sam Green. Yo La Tengo will perform the score live. On select dates from June 10-28, musicians will perform as part of the Mostly Modern Festival.

Skidmore College riding team

The Skidmore College riding team finished fourth at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championships held May 2-5 at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. 

Skidmore Shop merchandise

Students and families will receive 15% off any Skidmore-branded apparel on Friday, May 17. Look for the Shop’s pop-up tent at Commencement for last-minute gifts for grads and more. After Commencement, head to the Shop in Case Center from 1 to 5 p.m. and get a free Skidmore tote bag with any purchase of $25 or more.

Creating Our Future: The Campaign for Skidmore

Alumni, parents and friends have contributed $182.4 million to Creating Our Future: The Campaign for Skidmore. The 2018-19 giving year closes on May 31. Trustee Susan Gottlieb Beckerman ’67 has been named new Campaign co-chair. Visit the Campaign website to learn more.
