Ensemble Connect celebrates its 13th year at Skidmore with a concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14. A musical celebration of "Moby Dick" will bring Melville's scenes to life at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. Guest faculty member David Le, flute, performs Feb. 23, Skidmore College Orchestra performs Feb. 29, and Frederic Chiu, piano, performs March 1.
The Thoroughbreds men's and women's basketball teams host Clarkson University at the Big Green Scream on Saturday, Feb. 15. The fans will also choose the name of our Skidmore-inspired Stewart’s ice cream flavor from two finalists after the field was narrowed by the campus community and alums. Whichever name draws the loudest scream wins.
An opening event for the new exhibition "FLEX" on Feb. 22 will feature a talk with co-curators Dan Curley, associate professor of classics, and Greg Spinner, teaching professor of religious studies, followed by a reception. On Feb. 27, the Tang welcomes acclaimed artist Wangechi Mutu for the third annual Winter/Miller Lecture.
The Glotzbachs make two tour stops in Florida this month. Attend a Dinner for 12 Strangers in Charlotte, N.C., on Feb. 25, or a Winter Mixer Happy Hour in Louisville, Ky., on Feb. 27. In early March, Associate Professor Bob Turner speaks about immigration in D.C. and Virginia and the Bandersnatchers perform in Florida.
