Fall scene on campus

Skidmore looks forward to welcoming the families of students to campus this weekend, Oct. 15-17. For the complete schedule of in-person and virtual Celebration Weekend events, please see the Celebration Weekend website.

Phil and Marie Glotzbach

At 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, the portrait of President Emeritus Philip A. Glotzbach will be unveiled in Gannett Auditorium. During this special event, honorary degrees will also be bestowed upon President Emeritus Glotzbach and Marie B. Glotzbach in recognition of their outstanding service to the College. The event will be livestreamed here.

Now until Nov. 5, nominate alumni for recognition awards and for positions on the alumni board. Alumni in class years ending with 2 and 7 are especially urged to nominate classmates for distinguished achievement or outstanding service awards.

Lauren Kelley, Storyboard Component: Accumulating Inventory

A new exhibition, “Lauren Kelley: Location Scouting,” opens Saturday, Oct. 16, combining meditations on travel and everyday life through drawing, sculpture, and stop-motion animation video to create a new kind of community space. Check out how 10 former Tang interns have transformed the Tang website with new background patterns based on the Museum’s exhibition history.

Webinars

Upcoming events include our Cocktails and Conversations series, an opportunity to engage with faculty virtually. Professors Emmanuel Balogun, Mike Dunn, and Dan Curley will host the next programs, with more to come next year. Employer registration is now being accepted for Skidmore’s Fall Virtual Internship Fair, to be held from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12. This free event connects students with internships, including those to describe in their Summer Experience Fund applications. If you are interested in representing your employer’s internships, or have further questions, email Ali Stidd at astidd@skidmore.edu.
