2019 Public Events Schedule (subject to change)

This series of community events invites the public to take a peek into the creative process while Elizabeth Streb and her Extreme Action Company are in residence this June.  All events take place on the Skidmore College campus and, unless otherwise noted, are offered free of charge.  Please contact us for more details at or 518-580-5596.

Film and Discussion:  Born to Fly: Elizabeth Streb Vs. Gravity, a film by Catherine Gund
Born to Fly traces the evolution of Elizabeth Streb’s movement philosophy as she pushes herself and her performers from the ground to the sky. Revealing the passions behind the dancers’ bruises and broken noses, the film offers a breathtaking tale about the necessity of art, inspiring audiences hungry for a more tactile and fierce existence.

Dialogue with Elizabeth Streb and Anne Bogart, Obie-winning Director and Co-Artistic Director of SITI Company moderated by Ian Berry, Dayton Director, Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery. 
Bogart and Streb will be collaborating on a new piece while in residence at Skidmore.

Streb Extreme Action in Performance
The Streb Extreme Action Company, founded by Elizabeth Streb, is known for physically demanding performances that combine virtuosity, technical skill, and popular appeal. Witness this company defy gravity in feats of extreme action at the Tang Museum. The evening’s program will feature new and recent works including Molinette, Air, Tilt, Revolution, and Remain

An informal showing of a new work in development by Elizabeth Streb and Anne Bogart. Performed by members of Streb Extreme Action and SITI Company.
