October 14–November 3, 2013: Skidmore Unplugged
Designed to promote energy-conscious behavior through education, Skidmore Unplugged
encourages campus residence halls to achieve the greatest reduction in electricity
usage. This year, the hall with the greatest reduction will win a water-bottle refilling
station!
October 23, 2013: Food justice dialogue: "Food Accessibility—Are our decisions around
food really a choice?" 6 p.m., Lucy Scribner Media Viewing Room 129
Where do you shop for food and why? Join Sustainable Skidmore and the Office of Student
Diversity Programs in a dialogue about food justice as we kick off Local Food Day
by examining how our environments and identities influence our experiences with food.
September 11, 2013: Campus sustainability discussion, 4 p.m., Harder 110
The Sustainability Office invites students, faculty and staff to join in on a discussion
around sustainability at Skidmore. Many changes have occurred over the past few months,
and we want to provide a space for the community to hear the latest updates and have
any questions answered.

Advanced screening of Growing Cities, a documentary film that examines the role of urban farming in America and asks how
much power it has to revitalize our cities and change the way we eat.
