TRAVEL INFORMATION

The basics of our travel information are outlined below.  As you pack for the trip, recall that we will be traveling with our luggage on public transportation.  That means that you will need to be able to manage your luggage on your own.  What this means is that you can reasonably plan on taking only a single suitcase, plus a carry-on and a personal item.  Your laptop should either go into your carry-on bag or, if in a separate case, then your carry-on will need to contain your purse or backpack.  In other words, plan on carrying only three items.

Moreover, the following luggage restrictions will apply to our flights:

Baggage:  The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has specific restrictions on what is allowed when flying.  Their guidelines as well as tips from the Federal Aviation Administration can be found at the following website http://www.faa.gov/passengers/prepare_fly/

Carry on Baggage:  Continental allows you to carry one piece of baggage on board the aircraft plus a purse or briefcase or laptop computer or small backpack. The carry-on baggage must be of a size and shape to allow for storage in overhead compartments or underneath the seat in front of you.

Dimensions:

Cannot exceed 40 lbs and 45 linear inches (9 inches by 14 inches by 22 inches)

Checked Baggage:  1 checked bag allowed.

Maximum weight: 23 kgs (approximately 50.71 pounds). [Over 50 lbs (23 kg) and not exceeding 70 lbs (32 kg) will be charged at the rate of $50.00 per piece.]

Maximum dimensions per bag (H + W + L) must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches). [Checked baggage exceeding 62 linear inches (157 cm) - 80 linear inches (203 cm) (total length + width + height) will be charged at the rate of $150.00 per piece.]

Carry valuable items such as electronic equipment, cameras, film, cash and jewelry with you on board the aircraft.

Carry necessary items such as medication, prescriptions and keys with you on board the aircraft.

Additional Baggage Fees:

2nd bag: $45 online/$50 at airport
3rd + bag(s): $150 per piece

Flight Departure:

Please remember to verify flight departure time, minimally the evening before departureYou should also check-in online, during the appropriate timeframe.

Remember your passport!

Cell Phones: We recommend that you arrange to have cell phone service in London and Paris. Contact your cell phone provider to set this up or arrange to rent a cell phone from Piccell Wireless.  https://www.piccellwireless.com/latest/products_wireless.php

Credit Cards and ATM Cards: A convenient way to access money in Europe is through a credit card or ATM card.  If you plan to use these cards in Europe, contact the providers of the cards to let them know when and where you will be travelling.  Many institutions will not honor your cards without previous information about your travels.
