RULES, REGULATIONS, AND GENERAL INFORMATION
“EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CURRENT USEF RULE BOOK
WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH.” The Skidmore College Saratoga Classic is governed by the rules and
specifications of the USEF, USHJA, and Zone II .For more information, conditions, and specifications, please visit these websites:

CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION: Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular
Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage,
Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach
or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions
upon payment of a $30 show pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2)
exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses
used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining
Competitions; 8) Opportunity classes; 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their
own National Federation; 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.
NYRA REVOCABLE LICENSE: MUST BE SIGNED.
In compliance with the New York Racing Association 2016 contract, no horses are allowed
to be stabled on the Saratoga Race Course without a completed and signed revocable license to use NYRA facilities for the
2016 Skidmore College Saratoga Classic Horse Show and release and waiver of liability and indemnification agreement.
MOTOR BIKE RULE:
In compliance with the New York Racing Association 2016 contract, and a mandate from the NY resident thoroughbred
trainers,
NO MOTOR BIKES
are allowed on the property.
PLEASE Bring your Bicycle instead!
NYRA & NEW YORK STATE:
Department of Agriculture require all horses entering the grounds have a negative Coggins within 12 months, a 72-
hour health certificate with temperature, proof of EHV-1 vaccination no less than 14 days/no more than 90 days, proof horse hasn’t come from a barn
with active EHV-1 and hasn’t had a fever within 21 days. See skidmore.edu/saratogaclassic for more information.
STABLING:
Stall fee is
$250
per stall. There are permanent stalls with Dutch doors. It is recommended exhibitors bring stall screens. The
Management reserves the right to limit stalls to five hundred and sixty
(560).
No stalls will be reserved without receipt of stall fees with entries.
No
extension cords allowed!
No refunds on stalls after the closing date of entries.
Trailers and vans may not park in the stabling area and may only park
in an area specified by the Stabling Office
.
There will be a $50. per day ship in fee per entry
.
FEED and BEDDING (Please pre-order prior to arrival): The Horse Show Office will process all orders for Feed and Bedding
.
Please send your
order with your entries, using enclosed order form.
Credit card or open check is required and
No delivery on Sundays
.
48 hours required between
order and delivery.
Only straw or shavings may be used in the stalls. Sawdust is not permitted.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE:
Horses may arrive no earlier than
NOON Monday, June 13, 2016
and leave no later than
NOON, Monday, June
26, 2016.
Any exceptions must be cleared with management. Horses leaving after
week I
must leave no later than
9 PM, Sunday, June 19, 2016.
Horses arriving for
week II
may arrive no earlier than
3:00 PM, Monday, June 20, 2016

Horses are only allowed to cross Union Avenue Tuesday-
Sunday of each show week. Please follow instruction from the NYRA guards at all times
.
HORSE SHOW OFFICE:
THE OFFICE will be open one (1) hour prior to the show and will close one-half (1/2) hour upon the conclusion of that
day’s classes. The office will be open Monday, June 13
th
(week I) from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm and Tuesday, June 21
th
(week II) from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
for Rider Number pickup. HORSE SHOW SECRETARY must be notified of any splitting of horse show bills (i.e./tack stalls, tables etc.) by
FRIDAY
of each horse show week.
ENTRIES:
Entries accepted on a first come, first serve basis. ENTRIES CLOSE and must be RECEIVED by
Friday, May 20, 2016

No entry will be
processed for acceptance unless accompanied by a completed and signed entry form AND payment in full by check or valid credit card for the
stall and office fees for each horse entered. Open checks WILL NOT be accepted for stall, office, and nomination fee payment.
Entry forms will
be accepted only when signed by the owner, trainer and each rider, or their authorized agent and accompanied by payment for the above mentioned fees.
PAYMENT in full for each show (Saratoga Classic I & Saratoga Classic II) must be made individually. Payments are due no later than Sunday, June 19
for the Saratoga Classic I, and no later than Sunday, June 26 for the Saratoga Classic II. Horses/Riders will not be allowed to compete Week II until
payment in full is received for Week I. Exhibitors shall be responsible for all entry, office, stall, and nomination fees of all horses entered by them or
their agent. RETURNED CHECKS:
A fee of $50.00 will be charged for any checks returned for any reason. Horses that show in a class in which they
are not entered will be charged double the entry fee for that class.
MEASUREMENT and MEMBERSHIP CARDS:
All ponies, junior hunters, and children’s hunter ponies must present measurement cards or will be
required to be measured. See Rule HU170. Each entry form must give the owners
USEF/USHJA membership number
, proper mailing address,
telephone number, and either a Social Security number or employer’s Federal Identification Number. A copy of each owner’s, trainer’s, handler’s and
rider’s
USEF and USHJA membership cards must be presented
to the Show Secretary before any numbers will be given out.

POST ENTRIES
: Post Entries will be accepted and will be charged a
late fee of $50.00
per section.
SCRATCHES:
Once entered, no horse may be scratched without a veterinarian certificate. Entry fees will be refunded after a
scratch fee of $50.00
is
deducted. If the entry fee is by division only, no money can be refunded after the start of the division.
STALL AND OFFICE FEES ARE NOT REFUNDABLE.
NON-SHOWING HORSES:
Due to the limited number of stalls available, non-showing horses will be required to pay a fee of
$150
in addition to their
stall fee. Horses
must
be registered on an entry form with the show secretary and with the stabling manager. Management reserves the right to charge
any horse not accumulating entry fees of $100 an additional non-showing fee.
