PRIZE MONEY
:
All recipients of prize money must complete an IRS form W-9 and may receive an IRS form 1099.
Prize Money will be applied
to your bill. Recipients of prize money that is deducted from their show bill must also complete a W-9 form. Any prize money over the amount of the
bill will be mailed within thirty (30) days of the close of the competition. Checks will be payable to the owner, unless otherwise stated and will be paid
only
when a completed W-9 has been provided to the Horse Show office.
PRIZE MONEY Won by Foreign Exhibitors
is subject to the US IRS regulation requiring sporting events to withhold 30% of prize money. Foreign
exhibitors must obtain a US Tax Identification number in order to receive prize money.
PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR:
Protective Headgear which meets or exceeds ASTM/SEI standards for equestrian use and carries an SEI tag must be
worn by all riders at all times while mounted on a horse or pony. Headgear must be properly fitted with the harness secured at all times. (See Rule GR
801)
DRIVER’S LICENSE STATEMENT/MOTORIZED VEHICLES AND GOLF CARTS:
Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which
allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including,
but not limited to, golf carts, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate motorized
vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license
.
The Parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry
blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses
or action resulting from that operation.
Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are
responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the
competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6.
Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.
MANAGEMENT:
The Management reserves the right to cancel, combine, or split any class if entries warrant or the rules of the USEF require it. The
Management also reserves the right to change the order of classes before or during the show, to move classes to another ring, and to decline any entry and
to return money owed before or during the show without being liable for compensation.
SKIDMORE COLLEGE SARATOGA CLASSIC HORSE
SHOW, its officials, sponsors and employees shall not be held responsible for any accident or loss which may occur to any exhibitor, spectator, guest,
rider, groom, attendant, or other employee, animal, or equipment at this show. This will be a condition of entry.
There is to be no Traffic (cars, horses,
bicycles, golf carts, etc…) on the roadways near the Oklahoma Training Track. This area is off limits to all Horse Show participants.
Should
any questions arise that are not covered in the rules, they will be referred to the Horse Show Committee, whose decision shall be final.
STARTING/JUMPING ORDERS:
Jumping orders will be produced in accordance with USEF Rule HU158 and JP112. Orders will be established for
every class over fences. A systematic rotation will be
employed within each section. Riders with conflicts due to other rings running at the same time
should communicate with the starter so that necessary adjustments can be made. At no time will the rings be held up more than three (3) minutes due to
conflicts.
A dotted line may be used and posted on the course chart and designated in the ring.
DOGS: Dogs must be on a leash or otherwise contained at all times and are the sole responsibility of the owner.
Individuals must not lead dogs on
a leash while mounted. Dogs must have proof of rabies vaccine
.
Loose dogs will be detained and their owners fined
$250.00.
CAMPERS:
Camper spots are limited and reservations are based on availability. You must call the show office at 518-580-5632 to make a reservation
and include payment of
$300
per week with entry form. Campers not registered with the Show Office will be fined $250.
ELECTRICAL/FIRE REGULATIONS:
By order of the Saratoga Springs fire department: The fire lanes around the barns must be kept clear at all
times. Vehicles may not be parked in barn aisles or on any service roads. Vans will be parked in a designated area. No vans will be allowed in the show
grounds parking areas. No extension cords allowed. All electrical cords must be grounded.
JUMPER NOMINATING FEE
: To be eligible for indicated jumper divisions (see Jumper Division Specifications), horses must be nominated by the
start of each show. NOMINATIONS for all jumper division and classes close as indicated. Post nominating will be accepted after the start of the show at
the regular nominating fee, plus a $50.00 late fee. DECLARATIONS to show a horse nominated for a jumper division must be made during Horse Show
Office hours and received by the Horse Show Secretary no later than the close of the office THE DAY BEFORE the class is to be held, unless otherwise
stated. Declarations made on the day of the class will be charged a post entry penalty and require the horse to work first in the order of show.
CAR PASSES:
Car passes will be issued at the Horse Show office. You must have a pass to enter the show grounds and stabling areas during and after
horse show hours.
SCHOOLING
: Tuesday June 14 and Tuesday, June 21 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm and as announced. Exhibitors will be allowed to hack in the rings,
weather permitting, up to one hour before the start of each day.
POLING AND CONDUCT:
Manual poling
and/or the use of offsets are prohibited. Any action(s) against a horse by an exhibitor deemed excessive by
a judge, steward, schooling supervisor, veterinarian, or show manager anywhere on the competition grounds may be punished by official warning and/or
elimination from the day’s competition. Such action(s) could include but is not limited to excessive or improper use of the whip, spurs, reins, rider’s
weight or rider’s hands. Further violations by that exhibitor on the same horse or another horse will result in said exhibitor being barred from any further
competition at the show.
FOOTING/RINGS:
All footing at the Skidmore College Saratoga Classic Horse Show is sand. Ring sizes are diagramed here within.
LUNGEING:
Due to NYRA summer regulations,
LUNGEING IS IN DESIGNATED POSTED AREAS ONLY!!!!
A
$250.00
fine will be issued
to anyone found lungeing in an area that is not designated as a
“LUNGEING AREA.”
Lungeing rule will be strictly enforced and recorded trainers will
be fined and held responsible for any damages.
VETERINARIAN:
Official Show Veterinarian’s phone number will be posted at the Horse Show Office.
MEDICAL WASTE:
Sharps must be placed in the proper receptacles. Anyone found in violation shall be subject to a fine or other penalties deemed
necessary by show management.
