President’s office hours
President Conner will hold office hours from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 4. All faculty, staff, and students are invited to request a 10-minute, in-person appointment. To register, please email presoff@skidmore.edu. Requests will be handled in the order that they are received.
Entrepreneurial Artist Forum
The 11th Annual Entrepreneurial Artist Forum, “Leadership and the Creative Entrepreneur,” will take place at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, March 28, at the Tang. Panelists include Tobi Ewing ’15, Monica Steffey ’19, Natalie Wilson ’22, and Jamel Mosely, this year's Creative Entrepreneur-in-Residence. Dean Dorothy Mosby will open with remarks and Brian Vergara ’24 will moderate the discussion.
TEDxSkidmoreCollege
TEDxSkidmoreCollege is currently accepting TED talk submissions from students, faculty, and staff for the Saturday, April 13, speaker series. Members of the Skidmore community are invited to submit drafts of 15-minute presentations by Sunday, March 31. Creativity is encouraged. For more information, please contact Clara Morgan.
Join the Workforce Team Challenge
The Workforce Team Challenge, a race supporting the Hudson-Mohawk Road Runners Club and local charities, will take place on Thursday, May 16, in Albany. Register online by Wednesday, May 1. To participate, select Skidmore’s team and fill out all the required information. Do not check out; Skidmore’s team captain, Darren Drabek, will manage payment. Contact Darren Drabek or Rachel Roe-Dale for more information, including details about carpooling and celebrations after the race.
Solar eclipse viewing glasses and event
From approximately 2:15 to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 8, the moon will gradually block the sun in the sky above Skidmore. At 3:27 p.m., the sun will be 98% percent blocked by the moon. The Office of Communications and Marketing will distribute free Skidmore-branded eclipse glasses for the community to pick up from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 4, 5, and 8 outside of the Skidmore Shop — while supplies last. All are then invited to bring their glasses and questions to Case Green for a viewing event featuring science faculty, including astrophysicist Mary Crone Odekon.
