In today’s fast-moving media world, it’s easy to see information before it’s verified — but, as a recent Harder Lecture reminded us, being right matters more than being first.” In our Dialogues Across Differences series, writer Thomas Chatterton Williams spoke about the fragility of open debate and its consequences for democratic life. Credible News, Credible Information builds on that idea, offering tools and perspectives to help you cut through misinformation and engage thoughtfully with the news. Start with this guide from Scribner Library on evaluating sources, spotting bias, and finding trustworthy information — then follow the series as faculty explore how to build a healthier “news diet” and what credibility means for participating in elections.
