Skidmore College’s dining services team recently earned its sixth consecutive gold medal for culinary excellence in an American Culinary Federation sanctioned competition June 8th at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Campus Notes

Joowon Park, assistant professor of anthropology, was interviewed on June 11, 2018 by The Times Union in an article titled, “Skidmore prof says Trump shouldn't underestimate Kim: Expert on North Korea says leaders aren't aligned as talks begin,” and Saratoga Living regarding the June 12 summit between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

On June 7, The Washington Post featured an essay, “Liberal Democrats sidestepped Congress to bring free trade to the U.S. Now, Trump is able to do the same to destroy it,” written by Jennifer Delton, professor of history and Douglas Family Chair in American culture, history, and literary and interdisciplinary studies.

Skidmore Spotlight

Jeromy McFarren is a senior program coordinator for summer academics in the Office of Special Programs. McFarren works on summer sessions and pre-college as well as the summer studio art program, summer visiting students, and the Saratoga Shakespeare Company.

 

On what he enjoys most at Skidmore, McFarren said it’s the community spirit, including “the wit, creativity, and integrity of my colleagues in Special Programs.”
