Credit bearing research
Interested in joining a lab? Here's how to get started:
- Explore your interests. Skidmore biology faculty conduct research in areas like cell and molecular biology, ecology, immunology, and plant science. Browse faculty bios to learn more about research interests.
- Talk to faculty. Once you've identified a focus area, connect with potential research mentors to ask about current projects and expectations.
- Plan your time. Research is a significant commitment — much like athletics or performance. Make sure your schedule allows time for lab work, fieldwork, or independent study.
- Start early. To register for a credit-bearing research course, you’ll need faculty approval and should begin planning several weeks before pre-registration.
