A previous study demonstrated that concussions, with respect to time from a prior
concussion, significantly impacted olfactory function in football players. The purpose of
the present study was to determine if these results would generalize to undergraduates.
Forty eight participants were administered two standardised tests of olfaction (threshold
and discrimination) and a concussion history interview. Results did not replicate but
weak correlations were found relating to number of concussions and to sex differences.
