In late 2015, New York State declared a Superfund site in nearby Hoosick Falls,
recognizing risks to human health from PFOAs in local wellwater. These organic
chemicals are used in manufacturing Teflon, Scotchguard, and the like. How did this
happen, and what can be done about it? The Geosciences Class of 2016 will discuss
these and other aspects of emerging water contaminants in public/private water supplies,
concluding with a question and answer session.

Queering Mental Ability in Dance: I, too, am pedestrian
The representation of disability in dance tends to be limited to physical disability, erasing
the experiences of the mentally disabled. Using queer and feminist discourse, I propose a
diversification of how we define pedestrian vocabulary to accommodate all possibilities
of mental experience.
