This interactive session explores the possibilities of theater that is created specifically to
engage communities in conversations about race, gender and other intersectional
identities. Marcella Adams, director of last fall’s production of Ntozake Shange’s
for
colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf
, introduces a model
for theater and engagement. The audience will be invited to participate in a facilitated
conversation following a performance featuring actors from a variety of majors.
