Wrapping up a remarkable academic year

May 4, 2021

The academic year at Skidmore is coming to a close with lots of good news, including the announcement that the College has shifted to a lower COVID-19 alert level and plans are underway for an in-person Commencement celebration for the Class of 2021 on May 22.

Skidmore implemented a variety of safety measures this year to keep the campus community safe, and the year was filled with fantastic achievements, special moments and exceptional creativity.

These recent images captured by Skidmore College Staff Photographer Sarah Condon-Meyers show just some of the camaraderie, impressive accomplishments and fun that capped this remarkable academic year.

The spring semester and entire academic year offered a variety of rich, in-person and virtual learning experiences. Riley Mallory '22 archives artifacts in Associate Professor Siobhan Hart's Archaeological Collections and Curation course.

The entire campus community has found ways to balance the need to prioritize the community's safety this year with creative ways to enjoy campus. Tolo Bickford '24 walks on slackline while hanging out with friends on Case Green.

There have been some unexpected moments this year, too, including this late-April snowstorm during a game between the Skidmore men's lacrosse team and Vassar College.

The pandemic has not put any damper on creative expression. Choral Director Noah Palmer conducts a socially distanced Skidmore College Vocal Chamber Ensemble in Helen Filene Ladd Concert Hall in Arthur Zankel Music Center.
