Palamountain Scholarship Fund receives $10,000 Make a Difference donation

December 7, 2021

Saratoga Casino Hotel has donated $10,000 to the Joseph C. and Anne T. Palamountain Scholarship Fund.

The fund, which honors Skidmore’s late president and his wife, supports students who otherwise might not be able to attend Skidmore because of financial aid.

Skidmore College President Marc C. Conner accepted the donation from Saratoga Casino Vice President of External Affairs Skip Carlson and Vice President of Business Development Sam Gerrity at the casino’s Make a Difference luncheon on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 30. Skidmore was among 11 local nonprofits to receive support.

“I’m humbled to be in a room among organizations that do such great work in the Saratoga Springs community. Thank you to the Saratoga Casino Hotel and Garrity family for your generosity,” Conner said. “These funds to the Joseph C. and Anne T. Palamountain Scholarship Fund will directly help students.”

Other recipients were the Donna M. Crandall Memorial Foundation, Franklin Community Center, Jake's Help from Heaven, LifePath Supportive Services for Older Adults, Saratoga Community Health Center, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Sponsor-A-Scholar, the SNACpack Program (Saratoga Nutrition Assistance for Children), and Wellspring.

Aid from the Palamountain Scholarship Fund is given annually to financially eligible juniors and seniors whose outstanding academic records and cocurricular service exemplify the unique contribution that the Palamountains have made to Skidmore College.
