| CURRICULUM COMMITTEE ANNUAL REPORT 2000-2001 MEMBERSHIP: Susan Bender, Associate Dean of the Faculty Curriculum Committee met a total of 26 times during the academic year 2000-2001. In addition, two subcommittees met several times each to discuss reconfiguration proposals. Below is a brief summary of the committee's actions. 1. CC approved 49 new courses in various disciplines, ranging in credit hours from 1 to 4. Of these 49, 6 courses were approved as LS 2 courses. 2. CC approved the deletion of 25 courses from the Catalogue. 3. In addition to these 74 courses, CC approved revisions to 200 courses. The most common change occurred in the semester hours of credit (from 3 to 4). 4. CC approved reconfiguration plans from: Art, Art History, Classics, Foreign Languages and Literatures, Government, Management and Business, and Women's Studies. 5. The programs in item #4 above included revisions in mission statements, major requirements, minor requirements (where relevant), all interdepartmental majors and minors in which these programs participate, and other revisions of Catalogue language. 6. CC approved changes in the Environmental Studies minor. 7. CC approved the creation of a Neuroscience major and the deletion of the Biology-Psychology interdepartmental major. 8. CC approved guidelines for Faculty-Led Abroad Seminars, Courses, and
Programs. 9. CC developed new proposal forms and revised the guidelines for submitting
