Denise
Hughes, Secretary, began her career at Skidmore in the Van Lennep Riding
Center where she was the Riding Program Assistant from 1981 - 1990. Denise
worked closely with the Skidmore College Women's Polo Team and still keeps
in touch with many of the players and coaches. She started in the Art
Department in January 1990 and has taken classes in Ceramics, Jewelry
& Metals, Drawing, Textile Design, Weaving, Graphic Design and most
recently Photography. Denise serves as Secretary on the Skidmore Employees
Federal Credit Union board and maintains membership in the AHSA, USET,
USPA, and The National Museum of Racing. Denise graduated from Saratoga
High School majoring in business law/business math.
Denise and her family are currently researching the
family history in Saratoga Springs. Relatives were recorded as early as
1791 in the Saratoga Co Clerk's Office. There are two streets named after
Denise's grandparents, Van Dorn Street and Waterbury Street on the West
Side of Saratoga. Denise plans to publish the genealogical diagram soon.
