The Charophycean Green Algae or CGA are a group of microscopic green algae that are commonly found in freshwater and various land-based environments. Some great places to find these organisms are in shallow wetlands like beaver ponds, peat bogs and swamps.
Here are some ideas for CGA projects: When you visit these sites mentioned above, you should collect water from the top, some mud from the bottom and water surrounding some of the plants (e.g peat moss). Then, you’ll need a microscope to view what is in the water.
