Plant Physiology is a course where students learn about the complex metabolism of plants and their interactions with their biotic and abiotic surroundings. The following subjects are covered in the course: Plant and fungal biochemistry, plant cell physiology, photosynthesis, nitrogen metabolism, respiration, lipid synthesis/degredation, hormones, nastic and tropic responses and plant interactions with other organisms (incl. pollination, symbioses, pathogenesis). The labs include tissue culture, biochemical extractions and characterizations, electron microscopy and light microscopy (immunolocalizations). This course was last held in the Fall of 1999 and will run again soon.
