Publish
your resume
Another option in the job search is to publish your resume on the web. Web pages are written in Hypertext (extensions *.htm, *.html) and use a markup language to format the pages. However, there are a number of web authoring tools that may be used to create web pages without any knowledge of markup language. Frontpage Express comes with Microsoft Internet Explorer and Composer comes with Netscape.
The first step in establishing your web site is getting web space on which to store your web site. Skidmore provides students with 2 MB of space. To read more about setting up your Skidmore web site, click here.Sites like Geocities and Angelfire also offer free homepages.
While publishing your resume online is a good idea, don't expect a flood of responses to your web site immediately. You must attract visitors, that means submitting your web site to many search engines and putting keywords on your site that will attract potential employers.
