TOUR GUIDES,TEACHERS: Various activities in museum under supervision
of curator. Part-time positions as tour guides to children; students
who would be willing to teach after school and weekend programs
concerning horses (no horseback riding involved) ; also seeking
2 students with teaching experience to teach 10-20hrs per week in
the Saratoga Springs School District (local history lessons and
field trips). Summer position and year-round internship available.

Description:
CURATOR'S OFFICE INTERNSHIP: The program has two components: conducting
tours and lectures for visitors, and assisting with curatorial projects.
The lectures and tours include the history and functions of the
Supreme Court as well as its architecture. Projects may include
historical research; cataloging photographs, papers and memorabilia
of Justices; assisting with development and installation of exhibits.
Qualifications: Should have good written and oral communication
skills, substantial research experience, and enjoy working with
the public. Maturity, good judgment and dependability are essential.
Compensation:
Paid positions are available during the summer and holiday season.
Work schedule: 12 weeks, Monday through Friday from 8:45 am to 5
pm.

R. Guggenheim Foundation
VENEZIA, Italy
Description:
To
provide an opportunity for students from different cultures to gain
some practical experience and close familiarity with an important
collection of modern art. More generally students learn together
in a creative international atmosphere and acquaint themselves with
the life and culture of Venice. The program entails the operation
of the museum during opening times as well as periodic exhibit installation,
along with twice weekly seminars and the opportunity for independent
study. The program is minimum 1 month, maximum three months in duration.
Internships at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection may be arranged for
any one-, two-, or three-month period between January and December.
The deadline for all applications is December 1 for the following
year.
Qualifications:
University students worldwide are eligible. Preference given to
applicants who are students of art, art history, or related areas.
Must demonstrate a speaking and writing fluency in English, Spanish
and Italian.
Compensation:
Each student will receive a stipend of $15,000 for accommodation
and travel expenses.

Description:
Library Assistant -
Assist with all levels of library work with a focus on cataloging
and processing materials. The E. F. Schumacher Library is a 9000
volume computer-indexed library on decentralism, ecological economics,
appropriate technology, sustainability, grassroots organizing, and
related topics. The collection features the personal library and
papers of Fritz Schumacher as well as the library of the late Robyn
Van En, a leader in the community supported agriculture movement.
The library is open to the public but is a non-circulating collection.
Qualifications:
Interest in and knowledge of the subject matter is most important.
Familiarity with Library of Congress cataloging system is helpful
as is experience in a library setting.
