Walt Disney World
Lake Buena Vista, FL

Description: Walt Disney World College Program is a semester long internship experience for college students across the United States and Puerto Rico. Open to students of any major, the program consists of educational, working and living components. Students have the opportunity to participate in unique educational courses, work in one of our Theme Parks, Resorts or water parks and live in company sponsored housing with other students from across the United States and Puerto Rico, as well as interact with students from all over the world.

Qualifications: Students from any major.

Adventures Cross-Country (ARCC)
Mill Valley, CA

Description: We are looking for leaders who possess strong wilderness/backpacking skills and have experience working with teenagers. We look for any or all of the following experiences: Teaching, Coaching, Group Leadership, Natural Science, Emergency Medical Care, Wilderness Expeditions, Camp Staff, Extended Backcountry Experience. ARCC trips are challenging for our staff both mentally and physically. Our staff is typically responsible for a group of 13 students for anywhere from 15 to 39 days--24 hours a day. An ARCC trip will test the patience of almost anyone leading a trip. Quick tempers and impatient personalities do not mix well with an ARCC trip. On the other hand, leading an ARCC trip can be an incredibly rewarding experience; giving you the opportunity to introduce young people to the wilderness and to develop strong friendships with both fellow leaders and the participants.

Qualifications: Minimum 21 years of age; current certification in Wilderness First Responder, EMT or WEMT by June; excellent health and physical condition; current driver's license and good driving record; availability for employment in June. Skills: ability to listen and to articulate ideas; ability to organize groups; to motivate others; to offer and receive feedback openly; to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds; to work effectively under stressful conditions. Safety conscious; positive and optimistic; patience when working with adolescents; energetic, enthusiastic; team player; organized and efficient.

Compensation: Competitive with industry.


The World Affairs Council of Oregon
Portland, OR

Description: Global Classroom Program Intern - Through the International Classroom Program, interns assist in scheduling visits to local schools by college/university international students, study abroad returnees, returning Peace Corps volunteers, international visitors, and local citizens with international backgrounds. Interns also develop or locate instructional materials on international topics for teachers and presenters, assist in planning workshops and conferences, and participate in student field trips to the World Affairs Council.

Outward Bound-Voyager School
Ely, MN

Description: To promote self-awareness and develop leadership skills, Outward Bound conducts wilderness expeditions for people of all ages. The School arranges adventures focusing on backpacking, sea kayaking, canoeing, or dog sledding/cross-country skiing. Interns assist instructors, drive, help at technical sites, and perform a variety of tasks.

Qualifications: Open to undergrads, recent college grads, college grads and grad students. Must have certification in CPR, advanced first aid, and lifeguard training. Prefer teaching and/or leadership experience; adaptability to community-living; and a philosophy compatible with Outward Bound.

Compensation: $50.00 a week; free room and board and professional discounts on outdoor equipment.
