All full-time and qualifying part-time (6 or more credit hours) matriculated students enrolled at Skidmore College are required to enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan for Skidmore students provided through CDPHP (Capital District Physicians Health Plan), OR provide proof of alternative insurance coverage through a comparable plan. To waive or enroll go to CDPHP – Enroll or Waive Coverage.

Insurance Coverage for Intercollegiate Athletes
- The CDPHP student insurance policy does not cover expenses incurred for injury resulting from the play or practice of varsity team intercollegiate sports.
Intercollegiate athletes at Skidmore are covered by a secondary insurance policy for all athletic related injuries that are not covered by CDPHP. Inquire within the Athletic Department for more information.
- Injuries incurred while participating in club or intramural athletic activities is covered by CDPHP.
There is no charge for visits to Health Services, most medications and some laboratory services. Students (or their health insurers) are responsible for bills relating to emergency room visits, outside laboratory and x-ray tests, visits to specialists, immunizations, and certain medications. If you have a question or an issue about a bill please address this with the appropriate provider or contact CDPHP at 518-641-3140 or toll free 1-877-269-2134 Monday through Friday from 8am to 8pm.
