The Skidmore College Outing Club
The Skidmore Outing Club is an entirely student-run organization whose aim is to take advantage of the many natural recreational resources Skidmore is in close proximity to. The SOC is lucky to call Adirondack Park, the largest area of preserved land in the country, its backyard. The Adirondacks provide the club with numerous locations for hiking, rock climbing, ice climbing, rafting and backcountry skiing. The SOC is able to help the Skidmore community discover the outdoors by leading trips, providing equipment, and offering discounts and memberships to nearby organizations.
