Leadership Training
The SOC Leadership Training program has two aims. Its first goal is to train new officers for the club to ensure that there are always fit trip leaders in the club. Its second goal is to provide the Skidmore community with an inexpensive way to gain important outdoor leadership skills and bring nationally accredited outdoor leadership classes to Skidmore. New Officers in the club must complete a Skidmore Leadership Training class (WFA, WFR) and become approved by the current officer in the discipline that the new officers wish to become leaders in.
Protocol for Becomming an SOC Trip Leader
- Take a wilderness first aid class (WFA or WFR)
- Go on a leadership training trip.
- Plan and co-lead a trip with the VP of the discipline you wish to become certified in.
