Our goals fall into three categories: fundraising, awareness, and campaigns.
Fundraising -
Fundraising is our biggest focus and where we've had the most success. Our two faculty advisors travel in South Asia for research and provide a direct link to the people and communities we donate money too. This way we know who the money is going to and can sleep satisfied, picturing smiles on people we know.

In past years, we supported a monk, Geshe-la, in getting his Geshe degree so he can return to his community to teach. We gave money to a village near Lingshed so they could hire a school teacher during the winter months. Money was given to a nun for a simple eye corrective surgery. We also helped support the building of a new nunnery in Lingshed. Check out the photos section for pictures.

How do we get our money? Concerts and t-shirt sales mostly.

Awareness -
Educating the campus and community about the issues that Tibet as a country and Tibetans as a people face today as well as some history, culture, and geography.

We do this through campus speakers, slideshows, reading material, and teachins.

Campaigns -
Our parent SFT organization is involved with many different campaigns to improved the situation in Tibet and protest China's disrespectful and harmful activities. Recent campaigns include protesting China's bid for hosting the 2008 Olympics, successfully protesting World Bank support for a program that would have moved 58,000 Chinese settlers into Tibet, and demanding the release of unjustifiably held political prisoners.

We help by mailing letters to government officials, sending postcards, and getting students to sign petitions.
