VP for Residential Affairs - Inter-Hall Board (IHB)

2007-2008
Inter-Hall Board:
The Inter-Hall Board is a committee consisting of Presidents from each Residence Hall. Its members discuss co-curricular matters pertaining to residential, social, and community life, including the programs within each Residence Hall. They also serve as an important body for making recommendations to Senate.

Hall Councils:
Hall Councils are the main programming body in each Residence Hall whose sole responsibility is to contribute to the strength of the community in their respective Residence Hall and to the community of Skidmore College at-large. Each Hall Council consists of a President, Vice-President (Senator), Treasurer, Social Chair, and the respective Head Resident/ Residence Hall Director of that hall.

About the Positions:

Presidents Responsibilities:
The President will represent their hall in Inter-Hall Board, will be the chief advocate for his or her own Residence Hall, and will chair their respective hall’s Hall Council. Furthermore, the Hall President is responsible for the formulation and implementation of co-curricular programs for his or her residence Hall, including all-hall Study Breaks, and 3-5 other programs per semester.

Vice-President/Senator Responsibilities:
The Hall Vice President shall be the chief advocate of his or her Residence Hall on Senate, and is responsible for posting weekly Senate updates in disclosed location(s) within his or her Residence Hall, in addition to sitting on one additional Senate Committee. The Hall Vice President shall also be a member of Hall Council, and will assist in the programming responsibilities of their Hall Council.

Treasurers Responsibilities:
The Hall Treasurer shall record all of the financial transactions of the Residence Hall, and shall work with the SGA Bookkeeper to manage the Hall Budget. The Hall Treasurer shall also be a member of Hall Council, and will assist in the programming responsibilities of their Hall Council.

Social Chairs Responsibilities:
The Hall Social Chair shall be a member of Hall Council, and shall represent their hall as a member of the Student Entertainment Company. The Hall Social Chair shall also be a member of Hall Council, and will assist in the programming responsibilities of their Hall Council.
