Opportunities to get Involved (October 23th, 2006)
There are some opportunities to get involved with community volunteering at the Saratoga EOC (economic opportunities council)
Mon, Wed, Fri from 1pm -3:45pm: help at food pantry. This would involve sorting and collecting canned foods
Thurs
from 8am-11am (appr. but might run over to 11:30 sometimes so be
prepared for that): help with Extra Helpings program. This would
involve preparing and unloading from 8-9, then helping to serve and
distribute the meals to community members from 10-11.
If you
can't make any of these times but you really want to help email me your
schedule and I am sure there is something else at the EOC that you can
help with.

Projects
that are in the making: 1. going into elementary schools and promoting
nutrition awareness. 2. Putting together a holiday basket drive on
Skidmore campus to promote SNAC and give to the community. 3. set up a
"nutrition 101" session with the campus nutritionist so that we can be
more informed about what we are promoting
