Katie Benoit, an accomplished collegiate athletics administrator with more than 15 years of experience in athletic leadership, student-athlete development, fundraising, compliance, and strategic planning, has been named director of athletics at Skidmore.

New York State Summer Writers Institute at Skidmore College ‌

‌The New York State Summer Writers Institute welcomes students from across the country to study with a distinguished faculty of award-winning authors in residence. Evening Readings are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

Skidmore Jazz Institute

‌Called the “non-pareil destination for attentive and engaged instruction in the improviser’s art” by DownBeat Magazine, this year’s program includes evening concerts by renowned faculty and guest artists. Events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted. Reservations are required.

Open office hours to discuss the DOF/VPAA search

The search committee for the next dean of the faculty and vice president for academic affairs is seeking input from the Skidmore community as the search process begins. Community members are invited to share priorities and perspectives with the search firm during summer listening sessions. Please refer to Hope Casto’s June 16 email for information about available meeting times and sign-up details. Additional opportunities for input will be offered during the fall semester.

 

EMS open for fall Scheduling 

EMS will open for fall scheduling on Monday, June 29. For any questions on how to schedule space, catering, media services, or event setup, please reach out to the Scheduling Office, schedule@skidmore.edu 

Zankel introduces SSO for Skidmore tickets 

Zankel Music Center now offers Single Sign-On (SSO) for Zankel-presented events. Skidmore students, faculty, and staff can sign in with their Skidmore credentials to access free or discounted tickets when available. Visit Zankel’s event listings and look for the Single Sign-On option when reserving tickets.

Pop-up grill is back  

The pop-up grill is available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer outside Burgess Café. The menu includes burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, and more. A combo meal is $8.49 and includes a choice of two sides and a drink.

SPAC Skidmore employee discount ‌ 

‌Skidmore employees can receive 20% off tickets to Saratoga Jazz Festival, New York City Ballet, and Philadelphia Orchestra performances this summer using the promo code SKIDMORE. The discount applies only to regular-priced tickets, and some exclusions may apply. A special $19.66 lawn ticket promotion is also available for Ballet and Orchestra performances. Skidmore Shop summer hours

For the summer, Skidmore Shop will be open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and always open at skidmoreshop.com.

 

Skidmore FYE summer reading

The 2026 Skidmore summer reading, “Who is Government? The Untold Story of Public Service,” a book by Michael Lewis, is now available for purchase at Skidmore Shop.

 

NYS Writers’ Institute books

The Skidmore Shop has copies available for purchase of the 2026 New York State Writers’ Institute titles. Stop in to pick up yours today

 

Summer Bulletin publication schedule ‌

‌Through Aug. 20, Bulletin will be distributed only to faculty and staff, as well as students who remain on campus during the summer. It will also continue to be posted online. To submit announcements and events, please complete the online submission form. The deadline for all submissions is noon on Monday. For questions, email swb@skidmore.edu. Note: Faculty-staff achievements are not published over the summer.
