Quality time: a young rider waits for the start of a pony class at the Skidmore College Saratoga Classic Horse Show in June. The annual show welcomed hundreds of horses and riders (including nine who entered the special class for alumni) and raised over $150,000 in scholarship aid for Skidmore students from the Capital District of New York. The quality of the horses and riders was excellent, says Cynthia Ford, Skidmore riding director and president of the AA-rated event, which was a qualifying show for this years World Hunter-Rider Competition. And event chair Adele Einhorn 80, Skidmores annual-fund director, was pleased to see so many junior riders, who might be getting their first glimpse of Skidmore and Saratoga during this show. SR
