Machine, which opened in April, functions as both a gallery and personal workspace. Working with artist and architect Fritz Haeg and a builder, Mark constructed a series of movable walls, creating a versatile room that changes from studio/gallery to performance space (see www.machineproject.com). In May Lauren Rosen Levinson and husband David welcomed twin girls Alex and Samara. The family recently moved to Memphis, TN, and “are doing great!” Alexander Sammarco and wife Katie welcomed daughter Rosemary last October. The family lives in Whitefish Bay, WI, where Alex works for Stark Investments, a hedge fund based in Milwaukee. Maureen Mooney Ferradino and husband Anthony, married in 2002, live in Ballston Spa, NY. Maureen is a librarian at Caroline Street Elementary School in Saratoga Springs. Freelance children’s book writer Jennie Kent is co-author of Down the Banister: Tales of Fairies and Elves, which won two awards in 2003: the Andigraf prize in Latin America and the Latino Literary Hall of Fame Award for Best Young Adult Fiction in English at the Chicago Book Fair. She lives in Costa Rica. Flutist Rebecca Hale Quigley is a freelance performer in Westchester County, NY, who also runs a private studio. Since 1998 she has taught and lectured at Skidmore’s Summer Flute Institute. She formed the chamber music group Tapestry in 2002, and their self-titled CD is due out this fall. Fluent in Japanese, Rebecca has also studied shakuhachi, or Japanese bamboo flute. |
