Shana Melnysyn is field coordinator of a project in Inhambane, Mozambique, that involves gathering and promotion of local knowledge in preparation for the construction and development of an international heritage center. After two years out west, Jenna Ringelheim returned to Boston this fall to start a master’s in urban and environmental policy and planning at Tufts. She hopes to catch up with Skidmore friends while back east and can be reached at jennaringelheim@yahoo.com. David Auerbach completed a master’s in physiology and biophysics from Case Western Reserve in May and is now attending a PhD program at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Rebecca Young married Jim Ryder last June; the couple recently bought a house in Galway, NY. Becky is finishing a master’s degree in elementary education at Sage College in Albany. John Keyes is teaching 7th-grade history as well as 8th- and 9th-grade English at Eaglebrook School in Deerfield, MA. Over the summer he took grant-funded journalism classes at Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism. John is participating in an investigative journalism piece exposing racial profiling in the Chicago court system. He welcomes hearing from Skidmore friends at johngrkeyes@yahoo.com. In September Kate Keelty moved to Cambridge, MA, to earn a master’s in expressive therapies, with music therapy specialization, at Lesley University. Former roommate Meghan O’Connor is still a close friend. After working for a federal district judge this summer and training for the US Olympic swim team, Adam Stein started his third year of law school at Seton Hall this fall. Joy Fahrenkrog earned the third-alternate spot on the US Olympic archery team by placing sixth at the Olympic trials. In July she competed for a spot on the 2005 US National Team. Joy flew to Greece in August to watch her boyfriend and coach, Vic Wunderle, a double medalist in Sydney, compete in his second Olympics. A social research assistant at Boston College, Joanna is pursuing a dual master’s degree in social work and public health at Boston University. Ann Detwiler returned to New Hampshire after spending a year teaching environmental science to 5th- and 6th-graders at Science Camp in Boulder Creek, CA. Ann and Eve Fabiaschi were bridesmaids at the July 10 wedding of Sarah Meshberg to Matt Cohen ’01. Several other Skidmore grads were on hand to celebrate. Ann is working for the Sierra Club in Manchester, NH, and saving money for a journey to Senegal, where she plans to teach for six months. In Massachusetts Marti Wolfson has been enjoying her new home in the Berkshire Mountains, where she works in the movement therapy department at the Canyon Ranch health resort. Marti performed with a local dance company in the Jacob’s Pillow Inside/Outside series. After two years of teaching American history, government, and women’s history at a private boarding school in Raleigh, NC, Erica Seifert returned north to begin a PhD program in American studies at Boston University in September. NYC resident Mike Bialokur works in management for Elson Enterprises, a travel industry conglomerate. He attends Brooklyn Law School.
