Reunion was super! Although attendance was not massive, we had a fantastic time enjoying class events, formal and informal; all-reunion activities such as lectures, the parade of classes, fireworks, and band; and special activities for nursing and government majors.

Sue Gibbs, coming from Norway, traveled the furthest.

Sue Steele Isbell and Lenore Bethka Wersten, cheered on by their spouses, were reelected class co-presidents.

Priscilla Soffer Hoffnung returned for Reunion for the first time. She was accompanied by her partner and her parents.

Sarah Martin-Munley reported that her life was in upheaval due to her daughter’s wedding and moving from Needham to Cambridge. She recently had a meeting related to her work in clinical research in Athens and was able to see the Greek architectural wonders she learned about in Mr. Kettlewell’s class.

Our sympathy to Carole Walter Maeder on the loss of husband Roger in May 2004. Many of us remember him both from our college days and from reunions.

Although she was unable to attend Reunion, regards were sent by Catherine Barnett in Massachusetts.

Artist Ann Schaumburger’s recent works were on exhibit at the AIR Gallery in NYC for the month of June. Inspired by the 19-century stone houses she saw during an artist’s residency in England, the geometric forms provide a “relationship—often curious, invariably sophisticated and not a little vexing—between abstraction and representation,” noted one reviewer.

My husband and I joined several classmates at a reception and two panels celebrating the 50th anniversary of Skidmore’s government department. We were delighted to chat with professor emeritus and department founder Henry Galant and wife Eleanor, and former professor Robert Smith. Gerry Neil Phillips and Margaret Haas also enjoyed spending time with Ida Giragossian.
Harvey and I traded family stories with Julie Sparks Parmegiani and her husband, Bob, including our recent trip to Australia to meet grandchild number three.
