Gail Elizabeth Perry-Smith completed a PhD in biology from the University of Texas at Austin’s College of Natural Sciences in May; on the same day oldest daughter Meghan received a JD from the University of Texas Law School and second daughter Amanda received a BS in architecture from Rice University in Houston.
Jacqueline Casey is a hospice social worker with a private practice in psychotherapy. She and husband Rob love to hike and paddle in the abundant wild areas around Chattanooga, TN. She welcomes hearing from classmates at jahcasey@bellsouth.net.
Sue Hemingway is relishing the good life in her hometown of Auburn, in New York’s Finger Lakes Region. A serious head-on collision in 1976 and a subsequent hip and knee replacement forced her to take stock of her life. Now, most days she rises at 5 a.m. to swim laps, play racquetball, and bike. She also enjoys sailing on Lake Owasco. Because of her experience in recovery after the accident, she devotes time to visiting others in hospital wards and nursing homes, and also writes her church newsletter. Retired from a career in telecommunications, Margaret Cary Curran is a part-time ski instructor at Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine, where she specializes in teaching terrified adult beginners. She lives in “a household of athletes,” and serves on various boards and teams supporting lacrosse, Nordic and alpine skiing, and soccer.
Denise Marcil was the literary agent for Jane Stimmler ’72, who co-authored the book Stop Whining and Start Winning: 8 Surefire Ways for Women to Thrive in Business. Denise is also collaborating with author Erin McHugh on The Little Road Trip Handbook, due out next year.
