In Greece Anestis Symeonides reports that his family finally moved into a townhouse after 15 years of apartment living, which he considers “truly miraculous,” given the extremely tight and costly housing market. Daughter Alexia, 17, is preparing for college and plans to major in physics and history. Anastasia, 10, a fourth-grader at the American Community Schools, is starting an environmental awareness group for which she will advocate. The family plans to attend Reunion 2006. Thirty years ago, Anestis notes, “seems like yesterday.”

Charles Warren wrote the introduction to a new reprint edition (UMass Press) of John Nolen’s New Towns for Old: Achievements in Civic Improvement in Some American Small Towns and Neighborhoods. Nolen, a 20th-century prioneer in American town planning, wrote the book in 1927. Long out of print, the illustrated study is of primary interest to planners and urban historians.
