Victoria Wirth’s daughter Nell received her master’s in environmental management from the
Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Science. She is off to Park City, UT, for an internship. Older daughter Sunny works for the Fund for Public Schools in NYC. There is no retirement in
sight for Victoria, a midwife and physician recruiter for Hudson Headwaters.
Kathy Negus attended her 20th reunion pregnant; her 13-year-old son is now taller than she. She
is still working at Vanguard and hoping to make it through middle and high school with her boys (the other one is 15).
Mary Parker Ballou teaches preschool in Basalt, CO. Four-year-olds are her specialty, and she
has a great time “playing with clay” and other art media, swimming, and doing gymnastics and yoga. This past spring a friend from Memphis joined her in Moab, UT, to explore Arches National Park and take a rafting trip down the Colorado River. Mary visits her parents in Memphis as
often as possible. Son Matt lives in Mammoth Lakes, CA, where he competes professionally in snowboarding.
Joan Cardile Stern’s son Sam was married in May. Betsy Stern Guttag (aunt of the groom) and Carol Kroll Kahn helped celebrate. Sam teaches third- and fourth-grade science at Windward School in White Plains, NY.
