Physician Jessica Kaplan married W. David Seidel in September 2005. They live in San Francisco, CA, where she is in pediatrics at San Francisco Neonatology Medical Group and Noe Valley Pediatrics.

Mark Walhimer also lives in San Francisco, where he is a museum planner. He recently finished the installation of exhibitions at the MIDE, a new museum in Mexico City dedicated to interactive exploration of the world economy. Mark travels often to museums such as the new Santa Barbara Sea Center, International Balloon Museum (he got to go up in several hot-air balloons), Brooker Creek Visitor Center, and the International Wetland Museum in Hong Kong. He skis as often as possible.

David Birkenfeld, nursing director for the Hearthstone assisted living facility in Seattle, WA, befriended Cecelia Schick Roop ’31 while she was there. Cecelia died in June, leaving “her
indelible foot steps for posterity,” David says. She “shared memories of optimistic days in Saratoga during the Depression, and I lent her an ’80s perspective on student life in that familiar old town.
I found comfort in the calm oasis of her heart. I walked with her and grew with her. The road
of life is often too narrow to walk alone. The itinerary one shares with others really defines the journey.”
