John Jacobson was named new VP of institutional sales and trading at M. R. Beal & Company, an investment bank specializing in public finance, corporate debt and equity, and financial advising.

Scott Hamilton Kennedy’s documentary The Garden won a Sterling Award for best US feature at the American Film Institute and Discovery Channel Silverdocs Festival held in Silver Spring, MD. The film, which chronicled the destruction of American’s largest urban farm, was praised for “its tenacity in storytelling in the face of injustice, and the filmmaker’s singular vision in bringing a gripping, dramatic, and important story to the
public eye.”
