Jennifer Laviano Swan, husband Chris, and daughter Emilia welcomed baby Marisa to their family on January 4. Jen (lavlaw3@aol.com) continues to practice special-ed law in Sherman, CT, where the family lives.
In June Amanda Marie Karrh and Kurt Wegelius ’93 were married in NYC. They met as Skidmore students. Amanda, a freelance television producer and director, was a story producer for the Discovery Channel’s Storm Chasers and Food Network’s The Next Food Network Star. She holds a master’s in television and film production from American University and another in international studies from the University of Wyoming. Kurt is an independent flower importer in NYC.
World-class equestrian Jennifer Chang was disappointed not be able to compete for Hong Kong at the Olympics. In “a long and tortured story,” her dual US citizenship became a sticking point for her eligibility to represent Hong Kong. She did place second in the World Cup’s Southeast Asia regional qualifiers.
Kristen Sassano Gill is busy with two kids under 4 and a new business she founded called the Rafters Group. She says the kids are growing almost too fast for comfort! She keeps in touch with Kristin Duskin-Gadd, who lives in Ashland, NC, with husband Mike Stephens and their 3-month-old baby. Kristen also remains close to Robin Martin Parker, who has two kids, Greydon and Sara (named after best friend, the late Sara Bennett). Robin and husband Leo live just outside Saratoga Springs, NY.
Tiffany Weston lives in Philadelphia, where she is a graphic-arts manager at a law firm.
Andrew Hughes and wife Gina are proud to announce the third addition to their family: Oia, who arrived May 1. Brothers Potter, 6, and Harisen, 3, are very excited, and Andrew says, “We look forward to introducing Oia to the Skidmore campus.”
My husband, Jon, and daughter Grace, 3, welcomed baby George to the family on February 15. I am continuing my position in communications for Boston College.
