Jenna Ringelheim is the author of Best Hikes with Dogs: Boston and Beyond, published by Mountaineers Books. The guide describes dog-friendly hiking venues all around the state of Massachusetts and offers advice about preparations and etiquette. Jenna lives in Idaho, but came back east in August to promote the book at Boston-area REI stores and elsewhere. She is the owner of two Portuguese water dogs, Millie and Tasman.

Mariel Cedeno spent her summer in Equatorial Guinea, West Africa, with the Academy for Educational Development. With a background in community health, including HIV/AIDS prevention, she developed recommendations for addressing health issues in culturally and pedagogically appropriate ways in Equatorial Guinea schools. This fall she returned to her new position as senior program associate at the AED’s Center on AIDS and Community Health in Washington, DC.
