Edith Marie Switzer Cox still lives in her family home and keeps busy playing bridge and volunteering at a local library.
In May Mary Heber Mathews moved to the Sedona Winds retirement community in Sedona, AZ. She is happy there, with no harsh winters and near her children.
Helen Garrett Dejnozka is in her 20th year as clerk of sessions at her church and her seventh playing a Clainove, rather than an organ. She and her husband stay in close touch with son John and daughter Karlinda, who lives in Saratoga. Helen is wondering who will come to Reunion in 2010!
Ardelle Ward MacArthur and her husband of 62 years live in Buffalo, NY, and spend winters in Phoenix, AZ, to be near their son. Daughters Michelle ’70 and Lisa and two grandchildren spent Christmas with them last year. Ardelle says the whole family is doing well.
Nettie Meads Hoyt and Kay Schilling Lyall are still traveling, most recently to Dubai. Nettie is still painting and showing at a local gallery. She enjoyed a trip to NYC with the Riverside Theater Troupe in May. “Life is full,” she says.
My trip to South America was wonderful. We went from Buenos Aires to Santiago by ship, with many stops in between, including Cape Horn and Beagle Channel. I can’t figure out why anyone would go to war over the Falkland Islands, however.
