FOSA gets in the swing

Tennis rackets and golf clubs did plenty of swinging during a June outing in Saratoga. The fifth annual Thoroughbred Cup tournament, coordinated by the Friends of Skidmore Athletics, drew about 150 alumni, friends, and family members for a day of competition and camaraderie. Not to mention philanthropy: The event raised $30,000 for Skidmore’s athletics programs.

The golf champs were Bob Antonez ’78, John Antonez, and friends Steve Sullivan and Don Borkowski, and the tennis champs were Barbara Griffin Roberts ’80 and Alexander Roberts.

During dinner at the Saratoga National golf club’s gourmet restaurant, the group heard from Gail Cummings-Danson, Skidmore’s athletics director, and President Philip Glotzbach, who revealed the honorees to be inducted into the College’s Hall of Fame during Celebration Weekend in October. —SR
