Well, ’mates, I’ve been married for four months, and in Alaska for three months, and I can honestly say I’ve never been happier!

Lelde Skipsna Muehlenbachs lives in Edmonton, Alberta, with husband Karlis, a geochemist, and children Atis, 23, Emils, 17, and Lucija, 21. Sandy paints, drives a big truck, and manages three dogs!

Gail Dudack was chief market strategist with UBS Warberg for 14 years. When Warberg merged with PaineWebber in November 2000, Gail decided to pursue other options, all, naturally, “close to Wall Street.”

Class president Ann Diller took a weaving class at Haystack Mt. School of Crafts on Deere Isle, ME, this summer and ran into Carol Cookingham in the parking lot. Small world! Ann’s e-mail address is AnnMDiller@aol.com.

Our 30th reunion is very close, May 31 to June 3.

Nancy Dunne Bulger lives in the Washington, DC, area with sons Jay, 19, and Freddie, 15. Jay is a freshman at Fordham in New York. High school freshman Freddie is a scratch golfer who plays “in the 70s.” Nancy has retired from her business helping develop markets for U.S. companies in Prague. She now sells real estate for the Pardoe firm in Georgetown. Nancy writes, “I love the business, the houses, and working the city. No more commuting for eight hours by plane to get to work! I would love to hear from anyone interested in Prague and the Czech Republic. Also, I am looking for Constance Keck Hughes.”

Gael O’Brien is vice president of corporate communications for Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America. With responsibility for four subsidiaries, Gael oversees media relations, charitable giving, and the Mitsubishi USA Foundation.

Last fall, Scott Wiskoski’s interest in long-distance walking culminated in a 177-mile trek of Offa’s Dyke Path, a trail that runs the length of the border between Wales and England.

Ellen Brickman Jensen is director of the New York State Peer Assistance Program for Nurses. She loves her job.

Kim Conway Coleman works at Sotheby’s in NYC in private client services. She happily reports that she’s still married to Payson, whom she was dating while attending Skidmore. They have three children, Chase, 25, Avery, 23, and Reed, 18. Every summer in Maine, Kim sees Kinnon Jones Williamson, her freshman roommate.

Mary Ellen Green is recuperating from a battle with breast cancer; she was able to start a new job at Rowan University in January. We send warm wishes and congratulations to you, Mary Ellen.

Martha Cary Shuster is relieved to have moved out of a crowded apartment into a new house. Her new address is 59 Zim St., South Dartmouth, MA 02748.

Preparations for the big 25th, May 31 to June 3, are in high gear.

Elisabeth Chapus Tippens is vice president and merchandise manager for Victoria’s Secret Direct. She formerly served as VP and divisional merchandise manager for Saks Inc.

Roslyn Rose exhibited a collection of photographic transfer montage pieces entitled Dreamscapes/Landscapes at Gallery 214 in Montclair, NJ, and locations throughout the metropolitan New York area last fall.

Kathryn Schubert Whyland, husband Bill, and their three children have settled in the Syracuse area. When not transporting kids to their activities, Kathryn is busy papering and painting their new home.

Brenda Beavers Hendricks is a behavioral specialist teaching at an alternative school for high school students. The students have individualized learning sessions in the morning and work with horses in the afternoon.

Cutty O’Leary is a part owner of Lotus NYC Flowers in the West Village. The shop was chosen by New York Magazine as “the best florist in NYC”; its Web site is nycflowers.com. Josette Bailey ’76 also works at the shop. Cutty still owns Cutty’s Harbor Cafe in Rockport, MA, and maintains her Screen Actor’s Guild membership. She is performing in the off-Broadway production Me & My Car.

Leslie Viarengo Touw returned to teaching autistic children after a year long hiatus spent traveling. She visited her husband’s family in Amsterdam, and toured Austria, the Galapagos Islands (with experts from the Bronx Zoo), and finally, Tuscany.

Judi Steinman married Paul Janes in September 1995. Classmates Cathy Fire and Bonnie Grala Manion were in attendance. As science group director at McCarter & English LLP, the largest and oldest law firm in New Jersey, Judi oversees the management of science and medical issues in product-liability defense work. Judi and Paul live in Neshanic Station, NJ, and recently bought 12 acres of land on the Hamakua Coast of Hawaii.

Murray Stanton Neale lives in Charleston, SC, with her twin sons, 12. She directs the Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding Program. Her new interest is volunteering at the South Carolina Center for Birds of Prey.

Liz Wood Kleinhans lives in Lebanon, NH, with her three children: Eli, 12, Julia, 11, and Lucas, 8. She works as a substitute teacher and does private tutoring. She writes, “I love teaching and should definitely have gotten a degree in education at Skidmore!” Liz is interested in connecting with other alumni with interest or expertise in starting a home-based business. Gretchen Plowden Metzroth and husband Riko have moved to Agoura Hills, CA, just outside Los Angeles, where Riko is vice president of sales with Farmers Insurance Group. Gretchen is busy getting the family acclimated to the West Coast and its wonderful climate. Rick, Ryan, and John are now 17, 15, and 10, respectively.

Elizabeth Olcott Towne lives in Cape Porpoise, ME, with her husband, Robert, who is a teacher. They have three daughters: Sarah, 14, Abigail, 12, and Julia, 8. Elizabeth has begun a full-time job as sales manager for the historic Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport, ME. She’s very glad to have reconnected with her freshman roommate, Sarah Michels Strader, who lives in Manchester, MA; their kids have even gotten together. Elizabeth visited campus last year and “can’t believe that it’s the same place I attended—go, Skidmore!”

After eight years as a school nurse, Laurie Rogers Smalley is taking on a challenging new position as field nurse for the Westchester County Department of Social Services Medical Transfer Unit. Laurie and husband Peter lead hectic lives raising three teenagers. Bryan will be heading off to college this September; Craig is a multi-sport athlete who will participate in a summer exchange program in Europe and be a high school junior this fall; Alaina, who enters high school in September and has grown into a beautiful dancer, is looking into summer programs and may return to Skidmore. Susan Ferber and her husband, Jay, live with their two daughters in Rye, NH, a little town on the seacoast. Susan left her job as director of marketing for a large architectural firm and is seeking her “next career,” although she already has a full-time job chauffeuring her girls to tennis, skiing, drumming, and flute lessons.

Jean Anne Stark is an associate with the architecture firm of Joy, McCoola & Zilch, in Glens Falls, NY.

Faith Surkin Sherman is a senior account executive at TimeWarner CityCable in NYC. Her daughters Gerry and Rachel are now 12. Faith says, “you know what that means: the yellow Lab, Murphy, is the only one in the house who listens to me!” Faith lives in Rye Brook, NY, where she often visits Anita Koppel Blackman and her family.

In February, William Ortiz and his family relocated from Ballston Spa, NY, to Winter Haven, FL, where he supervises a unit in the life/health division of State Farm. Willie’s wife, Robin, is an underwriting service assistant in the auto operations division. Children Alisha, 9, and Willie, 6, were excited about leaving the cold, wintry weather of the Northeast for year-round sun and fun. Willie writes that he will truly miss his proximity to Skidmore and the time he spent assisting with multicultural affairs.

Teri Lafreniere White has started a new job as research associate for the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts. She is involved with judicial education, court performance standards, and strategic planning for the judiciary. She would love hear from classmates at tlwhite1@prodigy.net.

Deborah Brighton lives in San Diego, CA, where she works for the San Diego State University Foundation.

Juraye Haddad Moran sent her first daughter, Erinn, to Northeastern University this past fall. Daughter Devon is a junior in high school. As the strings specialist for the Berkshire Hills school district, Juraye teaches over 200 students. With both daughters on swim teams, she also devotes time to serving as a swim mom and YMCA official. Devon is a nationally ranked backstroker. Juraye writes, “I would love to hear from my friend Anne Twitchell Kimball.”

Due to a merger involving her husband’s firm, Janice Cipos-Pangrazzi has relocated to Midlothian, VA. Janice teaches French as a substitute in a private school in Richmond. She has also started to teach yoga in a wellness-fitness center and continues to travel often, mostly to France and Italy. She hopes to spend more time in Europe each year.

Arlene Nathanson Weiss has been working part time as a marketing communications manager at Millipore Corp. Arlene, and husband Alan stay busy raising two boys, Nathan, 8, and Zachary, 6.

Martha Cederstrom is living in Marin County, CA, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Last fall, she completed yoga teacher training and is now teaching a few classes at a studio in San Rafael. She also teaches art at Sir Francis Drake High School, where she recently arranged to offer yoga classes for full physical education credit.

As vice president of marketing and client services of Barrett Communications, I assist clients, many of whom are start-up companies, with branding strategy and marketing programs. Life is good with my new partner and my daughters, Caroline, 13, Sarah, 9, and Anna, 8, who continue to fill my life with joy.
